The Blog North Awards

Yaaay!
I have recently lost access to my kitchen due to loads of problems so I thought I would write up my evening at the Blog North Awards. So detracting from normal recipe blogging I just wanted to put a quick thank you up in light of my recent win at the Blog North Awards! So let’s get the pleasantries out of the way first: to anyone that voted for me I am very grateful and shocked about winning - this would have been very apparent if you were present at the north blog awards evening as I donned the sash and tiara. The tiara was not my first choice but rather the only choice left due to all the crowns being selected by other worthy bloggers of different categories.

Furthermore the other food blogs up for nomination are great and are definitely superior to their southern counterparts J therefore worth a read:

As for the night itself it was awesome meeting other bloggers from genres different from my own, with great readings from Mollie Simpson (If Destroyed Still True) General Lucifer and Kevin Boniface (kevinboniface.co.uk); the latter I loved due to me coming from Huddersfield! Finally a particular highlight for me was the reading / video presentation given by Food Legend, which I would LOVE to get a copy of to share with people I think would also particularly enjoy it. It’s one of those things that cannot be explained, it just has to be experienced.

And finally the venue was awesome. Being from Yorkshire entering Manchester is something I normally advise against but the Deaf Institute (http://www.thedeafinstitute.co.uk/) is amazing and well worth a visit, plus the food looked pretty good too.

I’m still wearing the tiara and sash at any opportunity. Oh and thanks to the Blog North Awards (http://www.blognorthawards.com/), Kate Feld and her team for an awesome night.
